How often should you water your vegetable garden?

In general we recommend one inch of water per week. However, in hot weather, vegetables need more water depending on the average daily temperature. To determine the average daily temperature, add the daily high and the daily low and divide the sum by 2. For every 10 degrees above 60 degrees, add another 1/2 inch of water to your weekly one inch watering routine. Still not sure? A few of these are: Black-eyed Susans, Coneflowers, Allium, Butterfly Weed, Sedums, Aromatic Aster, Russian Sage, Hardy Geraniums and Virginia Bluebells.
